291 AMA Pro riders earned prize money from Supercross and National Motocross in 2008. Did
you make the list? If the AMA paid points based on dollars earned, where would your have ranked?

Privateer National:
The Privateer National and Mini MX Pit Bike National in Spokane, WA on Aug 2nd,
2008 was a great opportunity for Northwest motocross fans to catch some great racing between nationally
ranked pros and a chance for NRG riders to make some big money. The AMA & NPG could learn a lot from
promoters in the Northwest!
Several nationally ranked top privateers were there such as Cole Siebler #53, Tiger Lacey #221, Kevin
Rookstool #94, Michael Blose #183, Ryan Abrigo #103, Greg Crater #153, Billy Payne #195, Derek Costella
#808  as well as a whole host of other riders from CA, OR, WA, ID, and MI. Both the 250F and 450F class
gates were full with 40 riders each.
The Privateer National and Mini MX Summer National posted a $60,000 purse almost equal to that of an
AMA/NPG National! In fact the top 5 pros of the day earned more money from the purse than is possible at
an AMA National! Even the Mini Moto classes paid more to the top 2 positions than is possible to win from
the purse at a National!
Vegas MiniMoto SX Champ Derek Costella and fellow Minibike racer Ryan Abrigo were the big money
winners of the day taking home over $8,000 each between their shares of $20K Minibike purse and $40K
Motocross purse.

Take a look at the chart below to see how much money the top 15 riders earned from the $40K Motocross
portion of the purse. Also check out the stories, photos and video coverage on
